About - Michael Jones

Like many in hospitality, I started as a pot washer at my local village pub and instantly loved the speed, noise and interaction. I worked my way up in the kitchen before studying Catering and Hospitality Management.

While I enjoyed the kitchen, my passion and social skills led me to front-of- house, where making guests happy remains my biggest reward. I've managed 5* restaurants, wedding venues, city spots and even owned an event management business and bistro.

Wanting to do more, I trained as a Hospitality Lecturer to mentor the next generation, honing skills that now help me to get the best out of my teams. Most recently, I was Operations Director for a holiday park company, improving their F&B standards.

With 20 years of experience across diverse sectors, I'm well-equipped to support hospitality businesses.

About - Hospitality Services

MJ Hospitality Services was established in 2020 with the aim of covering all aspects of hospitality and providing services to companies.

I started consulting for multiple businesses, helping to support them in re-opening after the Covid pandemic.

I took on my own catering establishment, The G&Tea House, and managed it from a turnover of £350,000 in 2019 to £1.6million in 2024 achieving local and national awards along the way.

Now my focus is working with some of the great people we have in this industry and helping to elevate their businesses to meet and exceed their goals.

I take the time to understand your business, whether through a full audit or by focusing on the specific areas that need attention.

Here, I outline what's needed, why it matters, and how we can achieve your goals. How do I support and mentor? I tailor my approach to what works best for you— whether that's face-to-face, via Teams, or on a weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis.

Action

Let's put the plan into place. Whether as a consultant or a freelance position, we will work together to achieve the business goals.

Review

Regular reviews are essential— how is the plan progressing? Do we need to adapt? Let's ensure we stay on track and make adjustments as needed.

Recap

At the end of each project I will recap to the leadership team with the progress we have made and what the next steps are for the business.
